About the Adhyathma Ramayanam Kilippattu
This audio recording tells the story of the Ramayana, a famous Indian epic, in a version in Malayalam language called Adhyathma Ramayanam Kilippattu. It was written by Thunchaththu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan in the 17th century. He gave it a regional twist based on the Vedic interpretation of the original Ramayana called Adhyatma Ramayana. The story is told and has six chapters: Balakandam, Ayodhyakandam, Aranyakandam, Kishkintakandam, Sundarakandam and Yudhakandam. In Kerala, people recities this during the month of Karkitakam, which falls during July and August.
